Bank History

Pinnacle Bank was first chartered in 1927 in Tama, Iowa as Tama State Bank. In 1996 the charter was moved to Marshalltown, Iowa.  A new main office was then built in Marshalltown in 2005 at 2206 South Center Street. This facility was built to accommodate future growth and to allow for in-house processing and servicing.

In July 2009, Iowa River Bancorp purchased Pinnacle Bank in Marshalltown, IA and in March, 2012, they purchased a branch location in Toledo, IA.  Pinnacle Bank continues to be locally owned with local decision makers.  People can expect the same commitment to service and to our community that this bank has demonstrated for three quarters of a century.  When the bank was purchased in 1970, it had assets of $10 million. Today, Pinnacle Bank has assets of over $150 million and is well capitalized, making Pinnacle Bank a very strong institution.

Pinnacle Bank prides itself on being a locally owned bank.  President/CEO David S. Burrell and his staff are dedicated to its customers and the communities that they serve.
